3.12. The Unbordering Ceremony

(Location: Former Border Gate Delta, Between-Time Region)

Description:
Once, this site separated two nations. Now it separates belief from disbelief. Juna and Judai arrive as a ceremony unfolds—except nothing formal happens. Instead, people walk slowly in both directions through a once-electrified gate, now humming softly with doubt. A banner reads: *Here, the end of distinction begins.* Flags dissolve in mist. Old customs officials offer stamps that simply read: “WHY.” Judai crosses the threshold and finds his pockets filled with imagined visas. Juna watches a child carry a balloon shaped like a continent that no longer exists. “We are citizens of the idea of passage,” she says. The crowd chants something indecipherable, but rhythmic—each repetition loosens another piece of inherited geography. The ritual continues without instruction.

Keywords:
##post-border ritual
##migration of meaning
##disassembled nations
##reversed checkpoints
##citizenship of doubt

Very Short Story:
They joined the others at the gate. No one stopped them, but no one welcomed them either. Judai looked down—his shoes were on opposite feet. Juna held a stamped paper that melted under touch. “Crossing isn’t about geography anymore,” she said. A stray dog followed them through the gate, then vanished. The mist behind them changed color. “Are we inside or outside?” Judai asked. Juna shook her head. “We are between.”
