greetings from Paris

It is, for me, a useful fact that 34 years after the release of Wax, or The Discovery of Television Among The Bees [85:00, 1991], the movie still gets several good reviews a week on the letterboxd service, which you can find here:

https://letterboxd.com/thefirstmovie/film/wax-or-the-discovery-of-television-among-the-bees/

this isn't easy to see, requiring clicking through this and that to see the most recent reviews, but of course I do that :)

to the end of orienting you on this ur-thing of what I am presently in the middle of, I'll repost here what is also probably difficult to find, my own most recent review of this film.

[10-1-2025] hi, I first came across these manymanymany reviews in early covid, and that was useful :) Here in our current world, I want to thank you all, and let you know that I read what you write, and tend to let you know when at 4 stars that I was there, at least I have for the last year or so, my apologies to the elder posters.

It may confuse some who post this or that, that this movie is fiction, and as such, is true.

You can take sold mindunaltering substances or think about the mystics of mystical, or even of the mental illnesses that people out there in the world carry on their saddened shoulders, but it is not about any of that. It is fiction. Like said, true, like the world is. And to be frank, since I am in the movie, none of the above there was involved in the making of that truth.

In the realm of fiction, I've worked the last 32 or so years on another film which is this film, and you can find it at

THEFIRSTMOVIEONTHEINTERNET
https://thefirstmovieontheinter.net

as THE TELEPATHIC MOTION PICTURE OF THE LOST TRIBES

At the moment, at that place which is not a place, there are the original DVDs of Wax there, in a menu that leads to such things.

Most everyone who encounters there this that current previous future work is usually mightily confused, for I am not serving the same fiction, to which I say, too bad, you just have to pay attention. Which is an understatement, since it is hundreds of hours long, but is meant to reward you, for it is for you. Since I am neither an artist nor a commercial entity, you can watch it there.

There is also a contact point but no interviews or questions, do it yourself, I have given you all that you need, so that you think what you will :)

by the way, Wax did have theatrical release [I did it myself on 16mm to most art cinemas in the States, never a bad review :) ] back after Guy Maddin's first film, and before Darren Aronofsy's Pi, in the same theaters, and not much later it went into the internet, first as the first streaming film, and then as one of the first websites. Odd facts, like being a weird width double single print pre-1910 home movie, but part of the fiction of the current movie. There are links at thefirstmovieontheinter.net

There is also https://Waxweb.org

best wishes, and congratulations on your extensive and interesting and interested watching of many movies.
