23.25. The Night Sky Composed for Broadcast

Location: Radio Transmission Hill, South Kyushu Edge

Description:
They find a small transmitter shed where an operator says nothing—but gestures toward the roof. Mounted above: an antenna array tuned to atmospheric light. Tonight, the sky over Nagasaki is being translated into audio—stars, cloud pulses, orbiting debris. The transmission resembles a composition—no melody, just gravitational notation. Judai hears familiar rhythms, resembling phrases Juna once spoke in dreams. She listens, tears in her eyes. “This is what they hear,” she says, meaning the ones who left or never arrived. The broadcast is picked up by no known receiver. Still, it plays. A light blinks slowly on the transmitter—heartbeat or beacon, no one’s sure. Juna writes the score in the margins of her book.

Keywords:
sky transcription, stellar audio, orbit broadcast, emotional frequency, receiverless signal

Very Short Story:
The sky was louder than expected. Juna leaned against the wall, eyes closed. Judai recorded two minutes of the hum. “Do you hear the way it bends?” she asked. He did. The static was curved—arcing toward memory. “They’re still trying to reach us,” she whispered. Judai nodded. The broadcast ended without silence.
