Messages are passed hand-to-hand or in muttered syllables. Judai received a torn transfer slip reading: *“Cross only when misremembered.”* Juna marked their route in silence. At the midpoint, in a corridor beneath an unlit vending machine, a traveler offered them a script for a station announcement that never aired. “You’ve arrived,” it read. But no station was listed. Only a direction: “South, beneath belief.”
