11.16. The Diagram That Only Made Sense at Dusk
(Location: Unfolded Field Sheet, Sugadaira Flatlands)
Description:
At the northern edge of the listening zone, pinned beneath four stones, a plasticized field sheet rested in tall grass. It depicted winding lines, shapes, and a single repeated glyph: a half-circle with three dots. Judai said it looked like a frog listening. Juna, examining the paper against the light, realized the image changed with time. As dusk fell, the lines reconfigured—circles elongated, paths bent. A message formed: “Bring no voice.” They held the sheet up and saw through it. On the hill opposite stood three motionless women. Not statues. Not waiting. Just listening.

Very Short Story:
They left the sheet untouched and approached the hill the next morning. No one was there. But in the soil were impressions—three pairs of bare feet, all pointing west. Juna turned slowly and saw the pattern from the map emerging in the trail behind them.
