Judai calls it “The Interval.” Juna refers to it as “The Forgetting Strip.” It’s neither political nor sacred — it’s a spatial ellipsis, where ceremony is not held but paused. As they walk it, they notice time stretch. No birds fly overhead. No wind stirs. Surveillance cameras pivot, but their lenses seem bored. The pavement is strangely smooth, as though no one has ever walked here before. Judai drops a paperclip and it vanishes. This place is the silence between laws, the space between rulers — a national pause built into the city’s breath.
