7.15. The Projection That Follows You

(Location: Walkway B2, JOAC North Corridor)

Description:
Along Walkway B2, where retired screens once showed educational films about the stars, one projector remains operational. It plays no film. Instead, it emits a cone of light that appears to track visitors. Juna walked slowly. The light followed, always staying one step behind. Judai ran ahead. The light paused. Then restarted. They discovered an inscription on the wall in faded ink: *This is not surveillance. This is attention.* The beam seemed to want something—recognition, acknowledgment, perhaps even companionship. Juna held her book beneath it. The light pulsed once, then displayed a fleeting image of a sunrise from 1933. “Whose memory is this?” she asked. The projector clicked. No answer.

Keywords:
##autonomous attention beam
##unfilmed cinematic pursuit
##1933 borrowed sunrise
##walkway of recognition
##sentient projection protocol

Very Short Story:
She stopped walking. The light stopped too. Judai turned off his flashlight and waited. The beam narrowed, pulsed gently, and widened—forming a halo around Juna’s book. “It wants the story,” she said. “Or it wants to be one.” When she closed the book, the beam froze, displaying her name on the floor. Then it shut off. But only for a moment. As they exited, another projector two corridors down turned itself on.
