(Location: Academy of Unfought Battles, East Campus)
Description:
The Academy’s steps are lined with engraved stones, each marked with a name and the phrase: *Trained but Unused.* Here, entire generations were drilled for wars that never began. Judai finds a flag folded into a textbook titled *Victory in Hypothetical Engagements.* Juna stands on a stage facing an invisible audience. A taped announcement loops: “You have been honored by absence.” The classrooms are immaculate—chalkboards filled with tactics written in a dead dialect of military theory. Outside, statues of generals point toward no enemy. “They trained to be loyal to something that never arrived,” Judai says. Graduation robes still hang in rows, each stitched with medals awarded for readiness, not action. In the chapel, a bell rings every hour for the war that wasn’t.

Very Short Story:
The bell tolled once. Then again, as if reconsidering. Juna entered the classroom marked *Simulation Room 4* and found herself listed as an instructor. Judai sat in the auditorium, listening to an anthem played backward on a broken harmonium. “They taught strategy like scripture,” he whispered. A diploma lay folded on the podium: *For Completion of Readiness Alone.* They rehearsed a parade with no cadence. Flags waved, imaginary crowds cheered. Then, silence. “They needed this,” Juna said. “To prove they had prepared.” But preparation became the whole story. That was the final exam.
