Location: Corridor of Terms, Simulacrum District, Hsinking
Description:
The corridor stretches half a kilometer through a government building that was never staffed. On the walls: framed agreements signed only by one side. Dates range from 1931 to 2046. Some are scrawled in pencil, others engraved in glass. The key fact: no counter-signatures. Juna runs her hand along a wall etched with the phrase “We Agree to Be Forgotten.” Judai opens a drawer labeled “Pending Recognition.” Inside, a document addressed “To Whom It May Concern” awaits a name. No one has written it. This is where pacts are made in absence. Where one nation apologizes, alone. Where a single voice declares the end of war—and only echoes reply.
Keywords:

Very Short Story:
They read the same agreement three times. Each version had the same clause, slightly reworded: “We take responsibility for having existed.” Juna underlined it, though she knew it meant nothing without reply. Judai signed the guestbook and found his name already there. “Maybe we’ve surrendered before,” he said. The corridor echoed the word “before” back at him. A door at the end led to another corridor, and another. They kept walking. Each frame held one side of a dialogue that was never spoken. “Let’s not finish this,” Juna said. He agreed. That was all it took.
