==== 21.20. Final Transfer Station ====
\\
**Location:** Beneath the Platform’s Shadow \\
**Description:** \\
There is a second platform, only visible at dusk, whose shadow overlays the ruins of the original. Under it is the Final Transfer Station---not listed on any map, reachable only if one steps between sleepers at the right interval. The station is silent. Ticket booths are manned by mannequins holding expired ledgers. Above the turnstile: “Transfer to Last Film.” Juna holds her book against the scanner---nothing. Judai offers his notebook---it opens. A voice says: “One of you continues.” They hesitate. Then the light flickers. The mannequins vanish. A film begins to play across the station wall: grainy footage of the two of them arriving, years ago. But the reel has changed. This time, they wave. This time, they stay. \\

**Keywords:** \\
twilight platform, transfer station, last film gate, mannequin staff, choice of passage \\

**Very Short Story:** \\
They stood together, hands resting on the scanner. “Only one?” Juna asked. “Only once,” replied the voice. Judai stepped forward, but she stopped him. The film played overhead---an arrival from the past, now altered. Their gestures were different. She saw herself smiling. Judai, writing something in the air. “We’ve been here,” she said. “Not yet,” he corrected. The film reversed, then froze. The scanner pulsed. “Choose,” the station said. They turned, not away, but sideways---toward a door that wasn’t there. When they stepped through, the film kept playing, only now from inside. \\
