(Location: Basement Level 6, National History Annex, Tokyo)
Description:
This museum holds no objects — only footnotes, labels, and redactions. Each plaque refers to something that used to exist: “Display Withdrawn, Chronology Error.” Juna reads the placards aloud: “The First Treaty of the Second Country.” “The 1939 Event that Never Occurred.” No one speaks in the museum. Judai writes in pencil, afraid of permanence. Some rooms are foggy — literally — with fine vapor clouds obscuring outlines. “These are misremembered exhibits,” Juna murmurs. One section is titled *Future Mistaken as Past*. The sound system emits nothing but the phrase “Corrected for clarity.” They find a blank screen labeled “Reel 42: Narration Too Early.” They don’t watch. They simply write down that it once might have been.

Very Short Story:
They walked slowly. Each sign pointed to a mistake. Each absence was thick with implication. “Was this ever here?” Judai asked. “It was enough that someone thought it might be.” In the fogged room, Juna reached out — touched the outline of a pedestal that may have held a myth. A voice whispered: “You misfiled hope.” They left through an exit marked “Apology Accepted.”
