(Location: Satellite View, Above Chiyoda Ward)
Description:
From high above, the Imperial Palace grounds do not resemble a human structure. Judai receives the image via encrypted fax from a dead satellite. The shape of the garden paths, the contour of the moat, and the absence at the center all match a celestial chart. “This isn’t a palace,” Juna says. “It’s a sky system.” She overlays the chart of temporality and confirms the match. Each flower bed aligns with a star in the southern hemisphere. Each pond a calibration marker. Judai realizes that when walking the grounds, they were not exploring space, but tracing constellations made of civic memory. Above Tokyo, a second city hangs — built from orbit, reflected into architecture. Their footsteps had been star maps all along.

Very Short Story:
The satellite image looked misprinted at first. But the coordinates were precise. Juna rotated the map until it clicked into place. “We’ve been walking through a zodiac,” she said. Judai checked the correspondence between stairs and stars. Everything matched. The palace wasn’t built — it was summoned. They had been tracing the shape of a constellation with their feet. Only now, from above, did it become readable.
